Gill Boast is a Primary Care Development Nurse supporting General Practice Nurses (GPNs) across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board (ICB). She is also the Training Programme Lead for the Staffordshire GPN Foundation School and GPN Facilitator for Staffordshire Training Hub.
A Queen’s Nurse since 2014, she has worked in general practice since 1998, with previous roles as a school nurse, trauma & orthopaedic ward sister, A&E Department and general surgery nurse. Gill has mentored student nurses throughout her career. She was previously a Senior Lecturer at Wolverhampton University, and has contributed to national initiatives including the Cardiovascular Disease Systems Leaders Forum and the National Wound Care Strategy. She has written a Men’s Health programme which has been launched with the GPN School. Gill co-launched the Ellen Mary Memorial Prize for outstanding Specialist Practice GPN students.
Gill became a QICN Fellow in 2025.
