The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI) – the oldest nursing charity in the world, dedicated to community nursing since 1887 – is proud to announce its re-naming as The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN).

The new name was officially unveiled at the Queen’s Nurses Annual Meeting on 13th March.

Our new name, The Queen's Institute of Community Nursing, more accurately reflects our mission and the vital role community nurses play in delivering high-quality patient care. This rebrand – an evolution not revolution – is a testament to our dedication to supporting and empowering community nurses and the individuals, carers, families and communities they serve."

The rebranding initiative includes a refreshed – but still familiar – visual identity and an updated website which will serve as a central hub for resources, news, and professional development opportunities for nurses working in all settings and fields of practice in the community, including primary care and adult social care.

This change of name highlights the organisation's commitment to promoting and supporting community nursing across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

In addition, there will be a further two exciting announcements about our services that support professional development in the coming weeks.

Dr Crystal Oldman CBE, Chief Executive of the QICN

Notes

The new name was granted by supplemental Royal Charter. The charity number remains the same (Registered Charity 213128).

The new but familiar brand identity will be rolled out across QICN online channels over the coming days, and updated website launched soon.
