Mary Lewis, who is Chief Nurse at Sirona Health and Care, has joined the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN) to support the charity’s organisational membership scheme and other partnership and engagement opportunities.
Mary will be working for the QICN on an equivalent of a day a week basis and her time to do this is supported by Sirona.

I am delighted that Mary will be joining the QICN to work with us on developing and strengthening our partnership working through organisational membership and other areas of partnership working. Mary is a hugely respected and talented nurse leader, and I know she will be a great addition to our team.
Mary Lewis QN said:
I’m looking forward to working with the QICN to help develop its partnership working particularly in building the membership which allows organisations focused on professional development to enjoy affordable, targeted benefits.
Julie Sharma, Interim CEO of Sirona care and health said:
We’re delighted to be able to support the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing through the work of Mary Lewis who brings over 25 years’ experience as a nurse, paired with a wealth of senior leadership experience. Within Sirona we already have a number of Queen’s Nurses who have benefitted enormously from the support and professional development they have received. This is a great way for us to continue to help further the reach of the Institute to nurses across the country and we are proud that Mary has been chosen to help lead on that work.
The QICN’s organisational membership scheme was launched in 2024 for providers of community health services in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are currently 35 organisations signed up to the scheme, which offers a wide range of benefits to staff, focused on providing professional development opportunities that are targeted and affordable.

About The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (QICN)
Founded in 1887, The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing (formerly The Queen’s Nursing Institute) is the world’s oldest nursing charity. QICN is dedicated to improving nursing care in people’s homes and communities across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The charity supports nurses through leadership programmes, educational grants, professional networks, and funding for nurse-led innovation. It champions high standards of care, influences health policy, and provides vital resources for nurses working in primary care, adult social care, and other community settings.
In 2025, QICN launched its Organisational Membership scheme, designed for providers of community nursing services. This initiative offers a wide range of benefits, including access to exclusive CPD opportunities for nurses and Allied Health Professionals, career development sessions for emerging leaders, discounts on QICN’s leadership and innovation programmes, and participation in regular webinars and discovery sessions. Members also gain free access to the QICN Annual Conference and can use the QICN logo to demonstrate their commitment to excellence in community nursing. The scheme was developed in collaboration with senior nursing leaders to ensure it meets the evolving needs of the workforce and supports the growth and visibility of community nursing across the UK.
