Community Children’s Nurses Network (CCNN) meeting

Community Children’s Nurses Network (CCNN) meetings are a great opportunity for community children’s practitioners from across the United Kingdom to connect and network, raising the voice of CCN workforce on behalf of children and young people.

The network hosts main UKCCNN meetings as well as sub-interest group meetings focused on specific areas. All events and meetings are held online via Microsoft Teams meeting links. All main UKCCNN meetings are recorded and can be requested by contacting Rebecca.daniels@qicn.org.uk.

How to register

Join the UK CCN network and receive monthly newsletters with meeting links, dates, times, and summaries. Professionals, who are not members, but would like to join specific meetings, can email Rebecca.daniels@qicn.org.uk.

Main UK CCNN events

• For nurses, academics, educators working with babies, children, and young people in community settings.
• Schedule: 4th Friday of alternate months (January, March, May, July, September, November)
• Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Next Dates: Friday 23rd May 2025
• Agenda: Listening and utilising the parental experience within community children’s nursing: 1) Seeing the journey through parental lens – the impact of parent memoirs – Award winning author Sheila Brill. 2) “Welcome to our world” – introducing the WOW project (Student Nursing Times award finalist), a unique pre-registration placement with families in the community setting.

UK CCN Network with SAPHNA – supporting CYP with SEND in education

• For professionals supporting children and young people with complex health and education needs in schools.
• Schedule: 3rd Tuesday of alternate months (January, March, May, July, September, November)
• Time: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
• Next Dates: Tuesday 20th May 2025
• Agenda: Updates on meeting health needs in schools, Risk assessment tools and member discussion on pathways for shared working across CCN & SSN

UK CCN Network Equipment and Consumables

• For professionals involved in equipment and consumables provision for community children’s nursing.
• Schedule: 4th Tuesday of alternate months (January, March, May, July, September, November)
• Time: 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
• Next Dates: Tuesday 27th May 2025
• Agenda: Focus on Cot/Bed assessments including sharing assessment tools.

UK CCN Network Blends with Enteral Devices

• For multidisciplinary professionals interested/involved in blended food for babies, children, and young people with enteral devices (dietitians, nurses, academics).
• Schedule: 3rd Thursday of alternate months (February, April, June, August, October, December)
• Time: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
• Next Dates: Thursday 19th June 2025
• Agenda: Current and proposed research in Blends for CYP via enteral devices.

UK CCN Network Continuing Care

• For professionals working in children’s continuing care in the community.
• Schedule: Every 3 months (February, May, August, November)
• Time: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
• Next Dates: Tuesday 1st July 2025
• Agenda: Open discussions, anonymized case discussions, best practice presentations and occasional guest speakers on member-identified topics.
